The COVID Slide: Learning Loss due to the COVID-19 Pandemic

What is the Covid Slide?

A decrease in academic learning due to the pandemic and COVID related absences.

Is your child still catching up?

The learning loss that occurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic continues to have negative effects on students current academic standing, even 2 years later. Parents are still telling me that they seek extra support from an education coach/tutor because they are behind on important subjects such as math.

Besides the stress, students' education became highly disturbed from their routines when online-learning or virtual schooling began. This is likely due to the fact that traditional classroom education did not translate well into online learning.

Now more than before, it is too difficult for Math teachers in schools to go all the way back to the last concept a child last understood. This is because there are multiple students with a variety of different needs. Unfortunately, teachers are nudged to keep the curriculum going to meet administration requirements.

They're in a time crunch!

Our program focuses specifically on going back to fill in those knowledge-gaps and strengthen foundational topics in math because we noticed (from the students we have served) it creates lasting RESULTS.

Ultimately, some children are not able to keep up with all the disturbance that came with the COVID slide and the continued absences due to COVID all while new topics keep rolling in.
