πŸ˜“ When I was young, I struggled to figure out HOW to study for math.
I didn't know that the notes I took in class were the key to help me study.

πŸ™„ All the time, I used to say, "How do you EVEN study for math, thats impossible. Either you know it or you dont."

And this was my excuse to get out of studying lol.

Learn from my mistake, and help your child use their notes wisely.

πŸ–πŸ½ 5 Effective Ways to Improve in Math using Math Notes:

  1. Redoing the Problem: One way you could use your notes is to study for tests by redoing the problems that are in the notes. The problems that are in tests or quizzes are usually problems that the teacher has already gone over during class and have broken down exactly how to do the problem in steps. Most likely the problems that are in your notes are going to be found on the next quiz or test.

  2. Use them as a Guide: Another way to use your math notes is use the notes as a guide when you're working on your homework problems. The notes that you took on that day will be probably be reflective of the homework problems that you're going to be assigned.

  3. Vocabulary Flashcards: Make flashcards out of the vocabulary words that your teacher has been reviewing. Also, make flashcards for important words that appear in word problems or in different kinds of problems. Write keywords that are in the wording of certain problems, because then you will be able to know what the question is asking when you’re doing homework or tests.

  4. Practice the Process: Use them to practice the processes or in other words ,the steps, for solving problems. It kind of takes a while to solve problems and sometimes a lot of steps. This can get a little bit overwhelming but usually teachers try to break it down into steps. Those steps are the process that you need to follow.

  5. Highlight Steps and Wording: When you’re redoing the problems highlight the type of questions that confuse you. Perhaps there is a certain step that is most challenging and when you highlight the step, then you could use to show somebody that is helping you. This way when they help you it is a more focused assistance because then know what to go off from.
