3 Effective Ways to Practice Math
The goal is to make connections between topics and within math principles.
To do this, you can start by talking about the material in 3 different forms:
Pictorial / Model Form
Written / Word form
Numerical form
What you want to do is to start off with one of the forms and have your child give you the two other formats. For example: You would give them the written description of a fraction or multiplication problem. Then, you ask them to write this in model form/pictorial and numerical form.
Your child will be practicing recognizing symbol, pictures, and key words that are used in schoolwork and tests.
