Mini-Book Review: You Are a Badass at Making Money By Jen Sincero

You are a Badass at Making Money - Blog post picture.JPG

The book You’re a Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero has been a movement inspiring more books, calendars and planners. To get straight to the point, this is a fun, informative mindset changing type of book with an edge.

Mindset

The book opens up talking about the relationship you currently have with money. It makes you realize your actual (or true) attitudes towards money—that are probably negative, by the way! I did not think that I had a love-hate relationship with money. In my opinion, money was just there (or not there lol) but I never thought I had BEEF with it (haha!). I’m thinking the reason why I initially thought my relationship with Money was perfectly positive is because my attitude towards it are the typical “socially acceptable” views most people have of it. However, Ms. Sincero reasons you through why those views are actually us having a negative relationship with money. This in turn, she states, is only ONE reason why money doesn’t stick around or come around often into our lives, lol. Basically, we are unknowingly repelling it from our lives. Which brings me to my next point on this book...Universal Intelligence.

Universal Intelligence

Ms. Sincero spends a great deal of time explaining the concept of Universal intelligence . She writes about how it plays a leading role in the production of YOUR FINANCIAL AFFAIRS movie. Thus, much of the rest of the book goes on to explain how emotions, feelings, words-that-come-out-of-your-mouth, thoughts, and actions are part of the Universal intelligence learning process that we must learn to conquer.

Real-life Examples

Throughout the book, Ms. Sincero gives examples people from different walks of life, who were in less than ideal financial shape. And goes on to tell us how they were able to turn it all around for the millions, I mean, the better! She also has money mantras and fill-in the blank type of exercises in every chapter.

My own Highlights:

Somethings I really loved about the book are: it was motivational, inspiring, relatable, and funny. Ms. Sincero writes in such a way that makes you WANT take off running and DO something. Anything! Lol. Also, to drive her points across, she uses anecdotes that make it easy to see her points. Another thing I really appreciated, was her humor. It was sometimes so unexpected which made it even funnier and so enjoyable to read—or to listen to! Yes, party people, I read the audible version of this book, which is read by the author. I definitely recommend this format if you don’t always feel like sitting down and reading a physical book.

In conclusion

I recommend this book very much. If you’re interested in the book, the calendar or the planner, you can find them below. Thank you for taking the time to read my review.
